Sculpture/Installations

Sculpture/Installations

In this work I have  layered ‘found’ text and illustrations from scientific textbooks with sculptural elements of cast latex to create a three-fold visual language: object, written word, and mathematics.

With whimsical beakers, funnels and tubes, I explore notions of containment: filling, emptying, pouring, and holding. The texts are fragmentary, each chosen for its emotional resonance and reference to the human body; their meanings remain elusive. Some pieces playfully reference environmental issues, specifically the gas and oil pipelines threatening our water supply.
